The NWA committee would like to wish all its members a very happy and successful 2013
Please note that this will be the last newsletter issued to all our 2012 members. Memberships are now due for renewal, a renewal form is printed on the Youngstock Show schedule and your membership may be sent in with your entries. You will be able to collect your 2013 membership cards at the show. If you are not attending the show and are sending your memberships renewals to Chris Wood please remember to enclose a SAE.
You will see from the membership application form there is a new section asking for your email address and if in future we can send newsletters and schedules via email?
In order to keep the membership fees down we need to cut our costs. By sending newsletters and schedules via email we estimate that we can almost halve our postage and printing costs in 2013. If you agree to have newsletters and schedules emailed will you please print your email address clearly on the membership renewal form.
By supplying your email address we can also send you "Stop Press" messages regarding any events you may be interested in between newsletters
If you elect to receive newsletters and schedules via email please remember to let the secretary know if you change your email address.
Life members
The secretary is currently reviewing the life members list to ensure that it is up to date. As life members do not renew memberships and often do not attend shows can you please email the secretary if you are prepared to receive future correspondence via email moss.wood@ic24.net. If you do not have email can you please contact Chris Wood (0161 440 0284) to confirm you are still receiving newsletters at the correct address. If you do not contact the secretary the assumption will be that you are no longer at the address we have on file.
Committee
Although the AGM was not well attended, there were enough members present for the meeting to go ahead. The following members were elected to the committee:
Graham Lowe , Tracy Lowe, Veronica Radcliffe, and Elizabeth Sherlock.
The committee also voted to co-opt Gordon Radcliffe and Wendy Clarke to the committee for 2013.
There is no change to the officers of the committee.
2013 Show Dates
Easter Monday 1 April Youngstock Bronze Medal & Ridden Performance Medal Show – Southview Equestrian Centre.
Sunday 25 August Summer Silver Medal& Ridden Performance Medal Show – Shanty Farm Byley
Sunday 10 November Foal and Yearling Show – Adlington Equestrian Centre. (2013 schedule is under review for this show)
Yongstock Show 1 st April
Simple System Horse Feeds have very kindly donated prize money for the show. The prize money is allocated to our in hand supreme (£30) and reserve supreme (£20) champions. There will also be Easter eggs for the Lead Rein and First Ridden riders.
As well as being a qualifier for the National Welsh Championship Show, we also have been awarded qualifiers for the Equifest Championship Show to be held at the East of England Showground, Peterborough on the 14 -18 August 2013. Full details can be found on the Equifest website www.equifest.org.uk/index.html. A small number of qualifying cards will be available at the show.
Please note that the qualifying cards will only be signed in the ring so please ensure you have one prior to entering the ring for your class.
Raffles
It is planned to run a raffle at each of our shows in 2013 now that we have a larger committee. If anyone would like to donate any prizes (unwanted Christmas presents perhaps?) please contact the secretary or any committee member.
Summer Silver Medal Show
Your new committee are working hard to make the 2013 a show to remember. Further details will be in the next newsletter but in the meantime if anyone would like to sponsor any of the sections please contact the secretary or one of the committee members.
Press Officer
Karen Cheetham has very kindly offered to take the post of Honorary Press Officer for the Association. She will prepare reports for the NWA Website, WPCS magazines and green journal and other horse and pony publications of our shows and members achievements with their welsh ponies and cobs. Karen would love to know when you qualify for any of the major championships such as RIHS, HOYS etc or if you have a major win at County or affiliated WPCS shows.

Equine Table Top Sale - 18th February 2013
